From my soul I remember
A time long gone by
When I walked by the Ganga
I'm so moved I just cry
Oh city of Shiva
Varanasi I'm now yours
In the midst of your chaos
Peace seeps through my pores
With head in pure sky
Bare feet walk the earth
May the Serpent of Shiva
Just rise up on high
(Repeat)
The truth is right here
It's beating our hearts
Just surrender in now-ness
And you'll become clear
In the footsteps of wise ones
My slow feet walk the path
It was winding and upward
Now it's straight, I just laugh
Glistening sunlit pools,
God men, temples, flowers
Childs smiles, shining eyes,
Rickshaw wallahs, cows,
Saddhus, incense, beads,
Pilgrims, beggars, fools
And I look to the source
Answers rise up from within
All I want is to tell all
From where you begin
The world is just one
The heart is the sun
Let our eyes be like windows
So we melt back to the one
With head in pure sky
Bare feet walk the earth
May the Serpent of Shiva
Just rise up on high
(Repeat)
